The story behind Hopeful

Posted by Trae Mundt on

It had been months since I last painted. I was recovering from shoulder surgery.  I was excited to head out on a long walk early in the morning.

The sun was beginning to dawn. I call this time of day "twinkle time." The lighting was extraordinary. As I was walking along the sidewalk something inside me had me turn around and look up toward the sky. I was so excited to see this beautiful flowering shrub. The oleander flowers were peeking over a very tall stucco wall. The lighting was perfect. I quickly grabbed my camera to take a few reference photos. I hurried home and took out my paints.

After a wonderful day of painting "Hopeful" sat before me on my easel. I thanked God for showing me these lovely flowers.
